Much of the Pedantry section of this site is lighthearted, but the fact is that I take proofreading and editing quite seriously. From 1996 to 2002 I worked as a proofreader, editor, and Web designer for a major investment-management company and did freelance proofreading for a children's-book publisher and several other companies.
